How we did our analysis
Using information from our databases, we analyzed the effects of having the booking pages fully customised to match the accommodation provider's website.
We needed a reasonable sample, and selected accommodation owners renting out one or two properties. For the analysis to be valid it was essential to compare like with like.
We chose owners who had been live on our system for a full year from 1 November 2006.
We counted how many calendar views they'd had and how many bookings they'd generated, and noted whether they had a customised or a plain system.
The results show that our customised booking system generated 75% more bookings from 26% fewer customer calendar views.
To put it bluntly, fewer customers generated more bookings!
